§ 6.08.250. Citations.

  • A.

    The city may issue a notice of violation to the owner of the animal in lieu of impoundment. The enforcement officer shall issue a citation when a person is in violation of this chapter, or an animal is found in violation of this chapter and the owner is known.

    B.

    The enforcement officer who cites a person for violation of any provision of this chapter shall take the name and address of the person together with such pertinent information as may be necessary and shall issue a written citation containing a notice to post bail or to answer the charge in the district court within twenty (20) days of receipt of the citation. The enforcement officer may arrest any person who commits a violation of this chapter in his presence. Upon giving his written promise to appear or post bail as required by the citation, the arrested person shall be released.
