§ 3.12.030. Emergency ordinance.

  • An emergency ordinance is an ordinance which in the judgment of the council is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety. An emergency ordinance shall declare the nature and reasons the emergency exists. An affirmative vote of four members of the council shall be required for the final passage of an emergency ordinance. Emergency ordinances are effective for sixty (60) days only.
